How to refashion a jumper into a cardigan

 

Do you like long sweaters ❔ I love them❗ especially during  windy autumn and cold winter. 

There is no better feeling than warm, fluffy material on your skin when cold wind blows. 

If you have 2 spare sweaters you don't love so much any more you may sew long warm cardigan and fall in love with them again.

sweaters  should have similar colors , material and size

How do you make a sweater into a cardigan?

interlining tape
pins
iron
sewing machine

 

 

  How to sew long sweater ?

 

first check the scheme on the photo below

 

 

 

cut bottom of sweater

in case the sweater is too big cut the edges as well

don't stretch material during sewing or else the fabric will roll 

 

 

 

How to add pockets ?

 

  and here you can see little instruction how to sew simply pockets

cut off 4 squares 15 on 15 cm from sleeves 

 

 

sew the pockets by right sides to sweater

 

 

 

How to make a neckline in sweater ?

 

  fold the sweater and determine the middle next
iron the interlining tape  (forming tape) with the help of an iron

 

 

 

  cut in the middle and cut off the neckline
roll up once and sew with straight stitch

I used very fluffy material, it was good choice as my cardigan is very comfortable
